Master, commander, savior
I don’t think there is any debate about the fact that Jesus IS the Commander of the Army of God.
“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.”
Revelation 19:11-13 NKJV
There IS ONLY ONE!
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14 NKJV
And HIS Army?
“And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.”
Revelation 19:14 NKJV
“Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”
Revelation 19:15 NKJV
“And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Revelation 19:16 NKJV
There is no denying that Jesus IS in Command. Even the Roman Centurion picked up on who Jesus IS.
“The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.””
Matthew 8:8-9 NKJV
And Jesus responds:
“When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”
Matthew 8:10 NKJV
This Roman recognized the Authority of Jesus.
“And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?” So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?” Then the Commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.”
Joshua 5:13-15 NKJV
Jesus IS and has Always been the Commander of the Lord’s Army. Keep that in your mind for a minute.
“So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.””
II Kings 6:16 NKJV
“And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
II Kings 6:17 NKJV
In our daily battles remember:
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:37-39 NKJV
Master, Commander, Savior - Jesus!
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
Matthew 28:18 NKJV
“But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?”
Matthew 26:52-53 NKJV
By some accounts at the time Jesus said this to Peter a legion of soldiers in the Roman army was 6 to 8 thousand men. When Jesus was being arrested He could have called 96 thousand angels to rescue Him.
Master, Commander, Savior, Friend - Jesus
“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
John 15:15 NKJV
Sometimes the battle for us is long. Sometimes you may feel like all is lost and you just can’t fight the good fight one more day. In those times look up and:
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.”
Psalms 121:1-2 NKJV
Pray that God would open your eyes as Elisha did.
“A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
Proverbs 18:24 NKJV
Remember that Jesus calls you friend and He IS with you.
“Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.””
I Samuel 17:47 NKJV
Your battle is the Lord’s.
“for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’”
Deuteronomy 20:4 NKJV
Whatever it is you are going through, at home, at work, in your finances, with your health, with your family or relationships that battle belongs to The Lord.
You are a friend to the Commander of The Lord’s Army. Your help comes from Him, the Maker of Heaven and Earth!
“But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.””
Mark 10:27 NKJV
Don’t give up, don’t give in, don’t surrender. Your battle is already won, the battle belongs to The Lord. You are on the brink of victory, of your miracle, of your deliverance, of your healing!
Stand firm and:
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Psalms 46:10 NKJV
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
In Jesus Mighty Name - Amen
