He Restores my soul
When I was little I had to memorize and recite Psalm 23 for the church on Sunday morning. It was a lot for me at the time, I think I was 7 or 8 and extremely nervous and like any kid I just wanted to get through it.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”

Now as an adult I realize all of the promises wrapped up in the Psalm and how it reflects the nature of God and how much He loves us.
God wants a relationship with us:
“The Lord is my shepherd;
God supplies all your needs:
I shall not want.”
Psalms 23:1 NKJV
God gives you rest:
“He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
God refreshes us:
He leads me beside the still waters.”
Psalms 23:2 NKJV
God heals you:
“He restores my soul;
God guides you:
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
God gives you purpose:
For His name’s sake.”
Psalms 23:3 NKJV
God tests your faith and strength:
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
God protects you:
I will fear no evil;
God is faithful:
For You are with me;
God gives discipline to improve you:
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalms 23:4 NKJV
God gives us hope:
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
God consecrates and sanctifies:
You anoint my head with oil;
God gives abundance:
My cup runs over.”
Psalms 23:5 NKJV
God pours out His blessings upon you:
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life;
God gives you the security of an eternity with Him:
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”
Psalms 23:6 NKJV
There is no doubt how much God loves you. He IS our Blessed Assurance, our Provider, our Protector, our Healer. He IS God alone. There is NONE like Him.
“Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me,”
Isaiah 46:9 NKJV
“teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”
Matthew 28:20 NKJV
So:
“Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works!”
Psalms 105:1-2 NKJV
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
